I mean, EVERYONE needs to be informed.
Since 14 weeks, Quebec’s students are on strike.
We are on strike to protest against tuition fees increase.
14 weeks and nothing from the government.
Except this : today, May 18 2012, a special law is voted.
A special law effective from now until July 2013.
That law takes away our associative rights, our protesting rights.
For each day that a Student Union (if we follow this logic, all Teacher Unions are in the same shit) don’t follow the law, the school’s administration can refuse to give the financial contribution (payed by each and every student represented by the same Union), the furniture, billboards or even the physical place (offices) where the Union have their address for one semester.
A 8 hour notice have to be given to the Police for every time a 10 person or more group gather. No protests should happen in a range of less than 50 meters of any school building. Police have the right to change anything that don’t make them happy about that gather (place, itinerary, people, etc.)
The Minister have the entire right to change anything in that law without notice.
Everyone who would give a permission, approve or know about any civil disobedience without denouncing it to the police is also a criminal.
To wear the red square is criminal.
Fees can go up to 125 000$.This law is unconstitutional.
That means, we can’t go on strike anymore, we can’t protest, we can’t hold General Assemblies in our schools, we can’t have a Student Union, in brief we live in a DICTATORSHIP.I’ll try to find the complete text in English, because you know, it’s more than important.
———————————-
http://www.assnat.qc.ca/fr/document/60865.html
Last week, a pal of mine and huge supporter of the student movement, CUTV reporter and videographer Laith Marouf, was arrested at a demonstration for videotaping police as they kettled, beat, pepper sprayed, and arrested about 70 students on their way from a demo in downtown Montreal.
Laith’s court date is set for the 18th, at 9 am, at 775 Gosford. Laith has been fucking TIRELESS in his documentation of the Quebec student movement - I haven’t been to a single demo where he wasn’t there somewhere with a videocamera, usually focusing on capturing the actions of the police. His work has been absolutely vital, and this court date is important not only for supporters of the student movement, but for people who care at all about freedom of information and freedom of the press.
If you can be there to support him in person during his court date it would mean a lot.
This picture is by a woman called Hannah. She was just disowned by her family for coming out as trans and is currently living with a friend, Alex. Here’s her explaining her situation:
Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a 20 year-old transwoman in the baby stages of transition. I’ve recently been kicked out of my home, leaving my school and my old job behind - technically making me a drop-out, unemployed and homeless!
Thankfully I was able to get a room at my friend’s place (thank you Alex <3), but after my last paycheck and buying all the amenities of life like food, soap, and clean pillows I am left with $20 to my name, and that’s going to a $700 credit bill at the end of the month.
I also am stricken with Type 1 Diabetes, which means I’ll need to pay for things like infusion sets, glucometer test strips, and insulin et al. When I left my mother threatened to remove me from her insurance plan so I would have to pay all of this out of my own pocket - an expenditure easily in the thousands by itself.
This isn’t including any other medication such as hormones or crucial operations like laser hair removal and eventually SRS, or visits to an endocrinologist, therapist, or just a general practitioner for prescription renewals. But, I’m doing it it all as Hannah, and that almost makes it worth it.

I’m trying to help them find resources, but I’m not local or a US citizen so I can’t be very helpful. If you know of any organizations in the Orlando area that could help her with food, job searching, or otherwise, please e-mail her at hannah.redmyer@gmail.com. Paypal donations would also be appreciated (to the same address.)
Even if you can’t donate or help inform, please reblog this on so it gets to people who can!!!

Pony doodle commission! Marey Flower Child for tsunderidanhampora c:
I’m offering these (and other animals) for 4-5 USD to help my best friend!
look how adorbs this is! You can buy one for yourself, and help out someone with a chronic, very painful illness! EVERYONE WINS
Hi, guys. Name’s Marly. My best friend in the world, the whole wide world, is in a bit of a pickle, and unfortunately, he can’t/won’t do anything for himself.
He’s unwell. I don’t know precisely how unwell because, again, his treatment of choice is usually to ignore his issues. He doesn’t talk about it because he doesn’t want to think about it.
Here’s what I do know, though. He’s transmale. He has no money and his mother doesn’t really take care of him; rather, he seems to be the parent. He has endometriosis which causes him pain, though to what extent I don’t know. He has a few rather severe emotional and mental issues that I don’t feel I am at liberty to disclose to you. His health has been failing for weeks now. I don’t know what’s causing it, though I’m sure stress can’t help. And he’ll continue to not do anything about it.
He tried to kill himself tonight AS I WAS TYPING THIS to escape the pain. He tried to overdose on prescription meds he’s allergic to. He NEEDS HELP. I told him I would do this if he wouldn’t, and I am. He needs to see a doctor. He needs to find out what’s wrong with him and GET IT TREATED. I won’t just sit by and watch the one person in this world I love the most fall apart. It scares me. It really does. I lost my dad two years ago, and I’ll be damned if I let my best friend join him.
I work part-time at McDonald’s…I make maybe 50 a week lately, my hours are so bad. He’s unemployed. He needs money. He needs to see a doctor, but he’s told me he refuses to beg. So I’m doing it for him. If you could please donate even a little…I have no idea how much he needs. I don’t, and I wish I did. Any amount can help him. One day we’re going to be roommates…it’s the one thing in life I look forward to the most. That can’t happen if he’s dead. I hate to even think about it, but it came close tonight.
If you don’t want to donate, I’m gonna take this moment instead to plug the fact that he offers commissions. I don’t wanna flood him with requests so I won’t link you directly, but wouldn’t you love a piece of this sweet action in addition to knowing you might help save someone’s life?
(He does lovely humans too!)
I know you would! I do messy cute pony doodles for 4 a pop as well:
Small and quick, yours will look better! (That’s G3 Dream Blue, by the way. I’ll do other animals as well!)
And if you’re not interested in commissioning or donating, could you at least spread the word? I would really appreciate it. Reblog it, all of you, please. I almost lost my best friend tonight and I never want to be this close again.
TO DONATE: Here’s a nifty donation link that you can use without a Paypal account!
If you DO have a Paypal account, I ask that you send a gift to suricatecheese@gmail.com instead of using the donate link to avoid Paypal’s ridiculous transaction fees!
Or, you can contact me in my ask box (or submissions if you’re worried about the ask being eaten by Tumbeasts) if you can’t donate or gift via Paypal! If you want to commission either of us, please ask me!
Thank you so much for your time!
For the night crowd and also at my friend’s request!
Reblogging for endo solidarity! Dudes can get endo too! It sucks!
Would that we lived in a world where healthcare were accessible enough that no one would EVER be driven to the point of trying to kill themselves to escape the pain of chronic illness. Until then, help an endo-brother out, if y’all can.
My dad was taken by Immigration and they could sent him back any day now! He won’t be able to come back for 10 years and he hasn’t done anything wrong. He’s been living here for 20 years, always paying taxes, and helped many families start lives in America. We need your help.

PLEASE REBLOG!
It took me forever to get this video up on the internet because tumblr gave zero shits about letting it work and then youtube took it’s sweet time, so the numbers and everything I say during my hysterical sobs aren’t even close to accurate anymore.
Guys. I am overwhelmed. At this exact moment, my paypal account has over 7k in it and I am exchanging emails with KIM FREAKING RHODES about her doctor and theres a tumblr account dedicated to this and other paypal accounts are collection donations and people are doing commissions akjshdkajh I just…. I can’t stop crying. I don’t even know what to say except a pathetic thank you amongst my tears.
Okay. I’m sure you’ve seen it already, but just so it’s attached to everything, my paypal email is chibi.coco@gmail.com if you want to help. I understand if you can’t. omg I didn’t even want to ask for money in the first place and now this is happening aksjghdgka
This fandom (and tumblr at large) has your back, gurl.
What’s happening to you is fucking bullshit, and it amazes me that we live in a country where someone’s life can be put at risk because they cannot pay for proper medical care. So yeah, I’m donating. Cos this is bullshit.
Hugs, you’re awesome.
I’m donating as soon as I get this paypal shit figured out.
So much love. ENDO SOLIDARITY~
If everyone donates $5 to chibi.coco@gmail.com or $10…. she can have a surgery and live.
The goal is $30,000.
This is an EMERGENCY and she’ll need the money ASAP (like possibly even THIS WEEKEND ASAP)
I apologize for the spam but to me it’s important.
More information on why she needs the money is here.
If you can’t donate, please help signal boost this guys. Please help her.
so uh. I have the same illness as this girl, only I’m stage 2 and she’s, like, critical-near-death.
When I was a teenager, this happened to my mom (who also has endo - it seems to run in her family). It was terrifying as hell and thank god for the Canadian healthcare system, is all I can say.
Please signal boost this. No one should DIE from endometriosis. It sucks heartily (as chronic internal bleeding tends to!) but it is treatable IF one has access to decent healthcare.
He was rounded up by those nazi fucks yesterday at a train stop going to Los Angeles on Amtrak.
Could you all please please please sign and reblog this?
If you get five or more people to sign it, I’ll give you head.
Thanks y’all.
Our kitten has a UTI and is peeing on everything. We really should take him to the vet. We have approximately zero dollars with which to do this.
I hate being too broke to be a responsible pet owner. It makes me feel like complete scum. Anyone who knows me or my partner knows how much we adore and dote on our cats, and knows that this is one of the few things I would ever solicit money on the internet for.
If ever there was a time to buy some shit from me, now would be it. Trying to start a sexual assault crisis centre on-campus is not paying the bills anymore, I have significant tuition debt which is keeping me out of school, I need some help with this. Specifically, you can buy jewelry.
About the jewelry I make: I use relief printing methods with fabric on high-quality porcelain to create delicately-patterned jewelry pieces. Prices range from 10 to 30 bucks. Current pieces for sale are viewable here. Check em out! I think they’re pretty.

Message me here if you’re interested.
Signal boosting is much appreciated.
P.S. here is a picture of the kitten you’ll be helping out with this:

I tried my best to fill this out, but ran into some difficulties, as my family situation is pretty non-traditional. In the future, you might want to consider rephrasing some of your questions, to make them easier for people from different types of families to answer? just a suggestion. My notes are in brackets/italicized for reference, with more ramblings at the bottom.
Far too often, the narratives of small town and rural LGBT life have taken a back seat to the vision of urban queerness, in cities where spaces of acceptance, community, and organization are much more accessible. Those of us who grew up or currently live in small towns…
Signal boost! Always stoked to hear from/about other small town/rural queerz. <3
