Once Upon A Time.

The premise of the story is that a fairytale king and queen send their daughter into the “mundane” modern-day world to protect her from an evil queen, who then casts a spell sending EVERYONE from the fairytale world into the modern world so she can find and destroy the daughter. Only none of them have memories of their fairytale lives anymore? Which seems kind of self-defeating? But anyway. The daughter grows up and has a kid, who she gives up for adoption, and the kid ends up being adopted by the evil queen, Regina, and then when he’s ten he seeks out his birth mom, the now-adult daughter, who is the Girl of Destiny who can destroy Regina’s spell and restore everyone to their blissful fairytale lives, or… something.

It’s all very entertaining and escapist, except it’s HORRIBLE when it comes to the issue of adoption. I wrote about it on my teevee blog a while back.
